I have not I write and I will open the first blog entry of this new course with a personal reflection on nuclear energy.
Nuclear "Yeah? Nuclear "No?
While in nuclear thermal power production obtained by very little fuel is really extraordinary, because in order to obtain the same energy production from coal would require much more fuel. In this aspect can be considered as nuclear energy is a major environmental impact as little fuel as I said you get much performance. Although they may seem as safe nuclear power plants, and no doubt the high security measures, like everything in life there is always a risk, however slightly, the risk is that you can have a leak or any failure that may lead to disaster, as occurred at Chernobyl (April 26, 1986). Apart explosions or problems that may exist with nuclear power is the waste problem and the famous ATC (Temoporal Centralized Warehouse), places where, even under a massive security measures are to be deposited radioactive waste and fuel have to stay there for life, because today its elimination is unknown.
Leaving aside nuclear weapons, I do not agree to close nuclear power plants and to open or continue to operate coal-fired plants, since they are one of the largest emitters of CO2 (carbon dioxide) because of the eject tons of this gas to the atmosphere per minute and high their contribution to the greenhouse famous disproportionately favors the dangerous global warming.
therefore call on political parties, governmental organizations, environmental groups and the whole world, to say NO to nuclear power plants, but also emphatically denied the thermal power and money of maintaining these energies (buy coal, waste storage, infrastructure, etc) that this money is invested in sustainable energy infrastructure to promote renewable energy and cogeneration plants (industrial, livestock, etc.) in order to maintain a healthy economy and sustainable development the planet.
