Sage Tea Cold Storage

BOOKS: FILM

Before turning to expose the subject wanted to get in position, since the nature of this post is improvised and not was planning to write up this afternoon (Monday's, when you type). I'm self-imposing a certain order in the publication with a weekly schedule and, as the same, now would play a personal reflection on a cultural theme. This week I am attending a seminar on the centenary of the novel "Peter and Wendy", which I'm learning a lot about the character and background, very well known but as yet I have read. In the lectures, different experts, we have exhibited, among other issues, their views on the work of Walt Disney, which otherwise do not deny that the study as a work softened.

I would like to extrapolate the case of Peter Pan, the set of adaptations that have been made by Walt Disney and other companies, literary classics. In the case of Peter Pan, has said the U.S. version of the survey eliminates a perverse reading history, touching the malice of the protagonist. By contrast, in later adjustments have been made as the work of Loisel, Max, among others, change the character and take him to a land much more violent, with a character of chaos, but without the innocence of childhood characterized .

I repeat that I have not read the book, but I'm talking in terms of the notions about it that I have conveyed today, but I feel guilty to do a version of a character, is just as bad, they stick to one cruel version of it. The beauty of works like "Peter Pan", "Alice in Wonderland" and some recent films such as "Toy Story" or "Up" is the ability of a child and an adult to appreciate different elements of the same story. A Disney version, is as valid or invalid as a macabre version, since these partially eliminating double reading, and as long as Disney can be seen by children and adults, the other not.

Anyway, I'm a defender of Disney, but that does not prefer to read the Alice books that their adaptation of it. In the final analysis, an adaptation, then Disney or make Bryan Talbot (say someone) is a version that shows the importance of the original work is you should not miss.
My conclusion is that you read and see adaptations, judging them as such, always keeping in mind what it is and also the original.

Reflection "or nonsense? Is what you should evaluate in the comments.
